You: Our research will focus on the phenomenon of nudity chatting on Skype and Omegle and thus discuss whether social media are a good platform for sexual education and information.

 

 We are going to invite Skype users to have a chat with the strangers on Omegle without acknowledging them Omegle is used as a platform for nudity chatting in foreign countries. We will observe and record the reactions of two sides of the user. From this, we may know whether Omegle would change their sexual perception or provided a new insight of sex to them. During the video taking, we will conduct interviews with different Skype users to figure out their opinions towards nudity chatting. We will briefly set some interview questions and ask different questions based on the conversation. On the other hand, we would also review some articles based on the research on the fields due to nudity chatting and cybersex.

 As mentioned above, Omegle is a platform for strangers to interact with each other and could be used as a tool for sexual expression. According to the phenomenon of people utilize Omegle (other social media as well) as a platform to have nudity chatting, we would like to examine the reasons of having cybersex and how users’ sexuality being satisfied through showing or watching each others’ naked body on web-cams. Besides, as Skype requires people to sign up while Omegle doesn’t, is this reducing users’ desire to have nudity chatting? Further, we may ask whether privacy is the most considerable factor affecting users’ sexual expressions. This may lead to the question of what means privacy to the users and to what extend will they feel secure to expose their naked body on the internet, a semi-public space.
